The Black Panther Pepper is a one of a kind pepper variety discovered in Brazil. It is a cross between the Pimenta Da Neyde Pepper and the infamous Ghost Pepper. Visually, the Black Panther has the characteristics of the neyde pepper. As far as heat goes, it is shockingly hot like the ghost pepper. 

The Black Panther Pepper plants grow to about 3 feet tall and have incredibly dark foliage with almost jet black colored leaves if exposed to full sunlight. This occurs from high levels of anthocyanins which are purple pigments. The black panther fruits also contain anthocyanins causing the peppers to appear almost black when unripe. One fully mature, the fruits turn into a deep red or orange color and are about 2-3 inches in size.

The Scoville Heat Units of a Black Panther pepper are about 1,100,000+. The flavor is slightly fruity. They have a pleasant taste that would be even more delicious in hot sauces or salsas. But watch how much you put in you put in your recipes. A little goes a long way with these spicy peppers!
